Sean Adams : DICE ’12 “Environmental Identity”

Environmental Identity

The physical environment is a primary contact point for the audience.  As in branding too, it is critical that the message is conveyed through the space. This is not simply slapping a logo on a wall. It is the gestalt of the entire experience. How can you apply identity and branding messages to a place? What triggers can be used to reinforce an organizations values? Where does the graphic designer stop and the architect begin? Is it okay to make a cigar company's building create smoke rings? Using examples of AdamsMorioka's work, and other spaces, Sean Adams discusses these issues and the processes to reach these goals.
