In the 2nd annual chair design competition, DICE (Design is Innovation, Creativity & Energy) explores the powerful impact of context. Designers of any and all disciplines are encouraged to participate. This year’s challenge is to design and build a bar stool. Check out last year's entries.
All entries will be displayed and judged at the Nevada Museum of Art on September 28-29, 2012.
Funds raised will help perpetuate DICE’s primary mission: To demonstrate that great design empowers individuals, inspires the masses, and enriches entire communities.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: The design competition is open to, but not limited to, artists, architects, graphic designers, web developers, interior designers, product designers and related disciplines. We challenge you to design and construct a fully functional bar stool. (It may not contain any living animals).
SILENT AUCTION: A silent auction of all donated entries will be held at the conference. As part of your entry, you agree to donate your chair to DICE (or see below for entry fees). If you do not wish to have your chair auctioned, an entry fee is required at the time of drop-off. Your chair will be displayed but not available for auction. All proceeds will go toward funding future DICE events and the cash prize for the winners of the competition.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration due September 24, 2012. Drop you chair off from 2-4 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Download your entry forms here.
