As award season comes to a close, what better day than April Fool's for a satirical take on awards shows? The Emu Awards will have no categories, very few rules and a slightly-less-than-serious attitude.

Bring us your best unselected concept, your strongest unpublished campaign or your uncommissioned masterpiece of design, illustration or photography. Voting will be done by your peers/attendees on the spot and winners will receive ... something really bitchin'.

So here's the deal. Just mount your entries on a board of any dimension (that doesn't require a forklift). Bring as many as you like, or can afford to enter. We will hang them and supply you with a carefully-determined amount of voting stickers. The entry with the most votes wins. How those votes are earned ... well let's just say aggressive lobbying, bribes or blackmail will not be frowned upon. But neither will honest hard work.

So dig out what may be some of your best work and join us for the inaugural Emus. We plan for this to be our biggest fundraiser for 2009 so your attendance is mandatory. No fooling.

Cheap beer and deviled eggs will be provided.
